About the Center

A Center Built on a Founding Belief

Peres Academic Center was founded on the conviction that higher education is the single most powerful engine of personal and national growth, and that it must be within reach of every talented student, whatever their starting point.

Named for President Shimon Peres and rooted in his vision of a society powered by knowledge and daring, the Center has grown into a multidisciplinary academic institution serving thousands of students from every part of Israeli society.

What sets it apart is the envelope around the classroom: scholarships that remove financial barriers, personal mentorship for veterans and first-generation students, a professional psychological clinic, and community programs that ask students to give back while they study.

Tuition covers the academic core. The support envelope that defines the Center, the scholarships, the clinic, the veteran and community programs, is powered largely by philanthropy from partners in Israel and abroad. That is where Friends of Peres Academic Center comes in.

Our Leadership

The People Guiding the Center

Leadership at Peres Academic Center means holding two commitments at once: academic excellence that stands with the best in Israel, and a social mission that refuses to leave talent behind.

The Center opened its doors as an Israeli academic institution in August 2006, in response to socio-economic needs in Israel, born of a meeting between the educator Ofra Elul and President Shimon Peres.

"I had a dream: to build a different kind of academy. Social, accessible, inclusive, empowering. One that helps anyone who wants it to succeed and reach the finish line, whatever their status, their role, or their socio-economic background."
